In its 5th edition, the event brings together universities, companies, and field experts to deliver career consulting, job interviews, and networking programs for global talents in Korea.

제5회 외국인유학생 취창업페어(SCF)는 국내 최대 규모의 국제 유학생 대상 커리어 및 창업 박람회로, 유학생들에게 진로 발전과 창업 기회를 제공하기 위해 기획되었습니다.
올해로 5회를 맞이하는 이번 행사는 국내외 대학, 기업, 분야별 전문가들이 함께 참여하여, 진로 상담, 채용 인터뷰, 네트워킹 프로그램 등을 통해 글로벌 인재들과의 실질적인 교류를 이끌어냅니다.
이 페이지는 아래 세 가지 참여 유형의 참가들의 브릿지 역할을 합니다:

1. The difficulty and sense of crisis that Korean universities face in attracting domestic students have become widely recognized, and the domestic industry is expressing various concerns about the lack of manpower, highlighting the growing importance of multicultural employment and entrepreneurship. 2. The number of foreigners residing in Korea is 2,245,912 (Ministry of Justice, 2022), and the number of foreign students is 197,234 (Ministry of Justice, 2022). The success of the Korean government's 2020 project to attract foreign students was largely due to the hard work of faculty and staff at universities across the country. The ratio of international students among foreign entrants is 17.5% (Statistics Korea, 2021), and the number of employed foreign students is approximately 28,300 (Statistics Korea, 2022). Additionally, as of the end of 2022, the number of foreigners with employment status was 449,402, an increase of 16.3% compared to the previous year (Ministry of Justice). 3. The Ministry of Education announced a plan to enhance the competitiveness of international students through the Study Korea 300K Project, which aims to attract 300,000 international students by 2027 and make Korea one of the world's top 10 study abroad powerhouses. (Ministry of Education, 2023)
5. With the Korean Wave, represented by K-pop and K-content, the demand for Korean education among foreign students is expected to increase and diversify in the post-pandemic era. In this context, while the number of foreign students has increased quantitatively due to efforts by the government and universities, various qualitative issues are emerging, such as the continuous recruitment of high-quality students, management of their lives and employment, and improvement of relevant laws and systems. 6. A foreign student is someone who comes to Korea to study under the residence status of study abroad (D-2) or general training (D-4). If they have a certain level of Korean language proficiency and have received confirmation from the school's international student office, they are eligible for residence status. They can also work part-time on a limited basis with an outside activity permit.
8. Foreigners can apply for a D8 investment visa (covering 1. Investment in a corporation, 2. Venture investment, 3. Investment in a private company, 4. Technology start-up) or a D9 trade management visa. Specifically, those who have obtained an associate's degree or higher in Korea, a bachelor's degree or higher from abroad, or who are recommended by the head of a relevant central administrative agency, and those involved in a technology start-up with intellectual property rights or equivalent technical skills, can apply for a start-up visa (D-8-4). 9. Accordingly, this fair was planned to create a stable cycle of attracting excellent foreign students, managing their progress, and facilitating their employment, thereby contributing to the true educational Korean Wave. 10. We hope for strong interest and participation from domestic and foreign governments, embassies, universities, companies, foreign students (whether studying a language course, bachelor's, master's, or doctorate), graduates, and other related parties.
1. 한국 대학들의 내국인 학생 유치의 어려움과 위기감은 사회적으로 상식이 되어 가고 있으며 국내 산업 전반에서도 인력 부족에 대한 다양한 고민을 토로하고 있는 등 다문화 상생 취업과 창업의 중요성이 커지고 있습니다. 2. 국내 체류 외국인은 2,245,912명(법무부, 2022년), 외국인유학생은 197,234명(법무부, 2022년)으로 대한민국 정부의 외국인유학생 유치에 대한 2020 프로젝트의 대부분이 전국 대학 교직원분들의 노고와 함께 유치 달성되었습니다. 외국인 입국자 중 유학생의 비율은 17.5프로(통계청, 2021년)이고 외국인 유학생 취업자는 2만 8천 3백여 명(통계청, 2022년)에 달합니다. 또한, 2022년 말 기준 취업 자격 체류 외국인은 449,402명으로 전년 대비 16.3% 증가하였습니다.(법무부) 3. 2027년까지 외국인 유학생 30만 명 유치로 세계 10대 유학강국으로 도약한다는 유학생 교육경쟁력 제고 방안(Study Korea 300K Project) 발표 하였습니다.(교육부, 2023년) 4. 교육부는 대학-지역기업-지자체가 함께 ‘해외인재유치전략전담팀(TF)’을 구성하여 지역혁신중심 대학지원체계(RISE) 하에서 유학생 유치부터 학업‧진로 설계까지 아우르는 지역맞춤형 전략을 수립하기로 하였습니다.(교육부, 2023년) 5. 케이팝, 케이컨텐츠로 대표되는 한류와 함께 외국인유학생의 한국 교육에 대한 수요는 포스트 팬데믹 시대에 더 증가하고 다양해질 것으로 예상되며 정부와 대학 주도를 통한 외국인 유학생의 양적 증가를 이룬 현 상황에서 더 우수한 학생의 지속적 모집, 생활과 취업 등에 대한 관리, 법과 제도의 정비 등 다양한 질적 이슈들이 제기되고 있습니다. 6. 외국인 유학생은 유학(D-2) 또는 일반연수(D-4)의 체류자격으로 한국에 들어와 학업을 하는 사람으로 일정 수준의 한국어 능력을 보유하고 학교 유학생 담당자의 확인을 받은 사람이라면 체류자격 외 활동 허가를 받아 제한적으로 아르바이트할 수 있습니다. 7. 법무부는 유학생 졸업 후 외국인이 취업가능한 분야에서의 취업을 3년간 전면 허용하고, 숙련기능인력(E-7-4)으로의 전환 등 유학생의 취업 기회를 확대하여 기업의 인력난 해소에 기여하겠다고 발표하였습니다.(법무부, 2023년) 8. 외국인은 D8(1. 법인에 투자, 2. 벤처투자, 3. 개인기업에 투자, 4. 기술창업) 투자비자 또는 D9 무역경영비자를 신청할 수 있으며 특히, 국내에서 전문학사 이상의 학위를 취득한 사람, 또는 국외에서 학사 이상의 학위를 취득한 사람, 또는 관계 중앙행정기관의 장이 추천한 사람으로서 지식재산권을 보유하거나 이에 준하는 기술력 등을 가진 기술창업자는 창업비자(D-8-4)를 신청할 수 있습니다. 9. 이에 따라 본 페어는 우수한 외국인유학생 유치-관리-취업-유치의 안정적인 서클을 만들고 진정한 교육 한류에 기여하기 위하여 기획되었습니다. 10. 국내외 정부/대사관/대학, 기업, 외국인유학생(어학연수/학사/석사/박사 재학 중), 졸업생 등 외국인유학생 및 기타 관련자분들의 많은 관심과 참여 바랍니다.
